Magical Pantomine adventure arrives at North Wales

Venue Cymru welcomes Johnny Evans to their panto season for a tenth season running in the wonderfully produced Aladdin this December.

Having been invited to join the panto frolics at the fantastic North Wales venue, I took along my daughter to gain a younger minds view on the show.

The stage set is creative and brings the show to life straight from the beginning. Without giving any clues out those with younger children might want to cover their eyes for the 30 seconds.

Gareth Thomas, famous for being a Welsh international rugby player, plays the part of ‘Alfie’, the Genie in the lamp. He brings fun and laughter to the part after spending the last two panto season down in South Wales in Cardiff.

John Evans plays the role of Wishee Washee while celebrating his 10th anniversary at Venue Cymru performing pantomine’s. The comedian is at his comical best and has a great relationship with the rest of the cast.

Aladdin is played by Luke Higgins who brings energy, youth and cheekiness to the role. His on stage partnership with Holly Bluett, who plays Princess Jasmine (my daughters favourite princess and kept talking about her for days afterwards), is beautiful with their duets. Holly herself has a magical singing voice.

The show on a whole is wonderful for the whole family with people aging from a few months old to the elderly thoroughly enjoying their evening’s entertainment.

My daughters (age 8) review of the show was ‘everyone should go and see it’ and ‘It’s the best panto she has seen!’

Aladdin is performing at Venue Cymru throughout December until the 31st. Tickets are available via the box office online at or by calling 01492 872000.
